This is another one of my Elvis Presley oil paintings on a Fender Bullet Squire Stratocaster. This painting I did 30 years ago – the original artwork was unfortunately lost by my brother when he moved house – but I happened to make 2 very clear photocopies for some reason so I can make great copies! So the original oil painting is either on someone’s wall or in some skip or trash heap somewhere. Be interesting to know – but I digress.
I took this guitar to bits and added the image before giving a a satin finish on the top side only (I like satin finish best but like to leave the sides and back high gloss to avoid belt buckle scratches and dings etc). As you see Elvis Presley is so photogenic you could put him on almost anything and it would look good – in fact his manager Colonel Tom parker – the fellow they are making a biopic about at the moment – did! The Colonel was adding Elvis’ face to sneakers, and T-Shirts and household items 50 years before Esty and Ebay were even imagined!
