What is this Guitar?
This is a brand new (2 months ago as I have been playing it a little to do some demos as you will see in the videos) Fender Squire Telecaster. After doing the artwork I stripped it down and then applied the art – then finished it with lacquer so it has a gorgeous satin look / feel to the body top. The sides I left super-glossy as in my opinion this takes belt scuffs better and reduces other marks.
Be aware that although it’s beautiful to play (I’ve had 30 years practice at how to set up guitars for different styles) it’s a design / my ‘little work of art’ / eye-candy piece 🙂 which means it’s not designed to take on the road or be thrown about where you can easily damage the finish on any guitar. If you insist on doing that (I don’t blame you) to show this thing off then just take off the parts and get a car dealership to apply a coat of super-tough car finish which wouldn’t coast that much or be very difficult.
The neck…
1st thing I did when I got this was sort out the neck – nothing wrong – on the contrary – it’s straighter (100% perfectly) neck than any of my Fender guitars! I put this down to machine tooling – I think a good thing as they cut by super-precision machines nowadays from computer controlled templates so no human error. I made the frets and neck side super-smooth as I like them so no cutting up hands on poorly finished fret board. It’s smoother than my beloved Jap Fender stratocaster which I have since done the same and adorned with the great Jimi Hendrix.
Other than that I have to say I do not really want to let this go – hence the slightly more expensive price than my strat (Elvis is my No.1 star / Beatles 2nd – even though of course they were in reality equally talented as a group).
